Thermal Inkjet (TIJ) printing is a type of inkjet printing in which tiny droplets of ink are ejected from microscopic nozzles onto the paper. TIJ printers use a special ink that is heated by a heating element at the nozzle, causing it to vaporize. This creates pressure that delivers high-quality results. The TIJ printing process offers many advantages, including high print quality and speed, as well as lower operating costs. Furthermore, the process is highly versatile and capable of printing on various materials, including paper, cardboard, and film.

Despite all the advantages TIJ printers offer, there is also a downside:

• Decap time: 1 hour

This refers to the maximum amount of time your thermal inkjet printing system can remain idle without the ink in the printhead drying out. Should the nozzles dry out nonetheless, they can be wiped across an absorbent cloth (such as a paper towel) to clear the dried ink. To prevent drying, the cartridge should be removed from the device during periods of inactivity and resealed using the supplied plastic cap.
