The P2000 encoder for the KS2 printing system optimizes the accuracy and efficiency of the marking system. This rotary encoder precisely captures conveyor belt movement data, thereby synchronizing the thermal inkjet printing system and ensuring exact positioning for printing. Precise motion detection enables reliable print quality, even with widely varying conveyor belt speeds.

Using an encoder can be highly beneficial for thermal inkjet printers used on conveyor belts. The encoder is equipped with a small wheel that rests on the conveyor belt, measures the speed, and transmits this data to the printing system.

Encoder operation and installation

Based on this information, the printing system controls the speed at which ink is ejected from the printhead. This allows the system to continuously adjust the print output to the current conveyor belt speed, ensuring consistent print appearance even when the belt speed fluctuates.

Without an encoder, the conveyor belt must be operated at a constant speed to maintain the originally configured print result without the print becoming stretched or compressed.
