Product description

Desktop USB shelf label printer

Due to our WEEE registration being valid only in Germany, and our compliance with national regulations under the Battery Act (BattG) and the Electrical and Electronic Equipment Act (ElektroG), the sale of this item is restricted to the German market.

Efficient warehouse management begins with proper labeling. Our shelf label printer offers an excellent, simple solution for labeling using non-adhesive thermal labels. Although CUNU markets this device as a printer for shelf labels (non-adhesive), it can naturally also handle standard thermal labels—for instance, to create shipping labels. The system is designed for a maximum daily workload of approximately 1,000 of our 70x38 mm shelf labels featuring black marks.

The GoLabel software is intuitive and very easy to use; you are welcome to download it here and test it beforehand, even without the printer installed:

Additional software, drivers, and tools for this device are available directly from the manufacturer, Godex. Naturally, during installation, the printer is set up as a standard Windows printer, making it usable via Word, Photoshop, or your inventory management system.

If you need to print large batches of shelf labels rather than just individual ones, an alternative to thermal printing is to produce them using a standard desktop printer (laser or inkjet) and perforated paper.

Facts about shelf label printers – Direct thermal printing

Direct thermal printing is a process that creates information on heat-sensitive paper without the use of ink or ribbons. This is achieved by selectively heating specific areas of the paper. A direct thermal printer contains a printhead unit equipped with heating elements; these elements generate heat and are activated to heat the paper at the required points. The heat-sensitive paper reacts to the heat by changing color. Controlled heating thus produces characters, graphics, or text on the paper.

Since no ink is consumed and no ribbon changes are required, direct thermal printing is highly cost-effective and requires minimal maintenance. The printouts are sensitive to high heat and will fade over time when exposed to UV light (not suitable for long-term outdoor use). Direct thermal printing is used in POS systems, label printers, and other applications requiring low-cost, simple graphic prints.

Facts about shipping label printers

Naturally, the thermal printer can also be used with standard self-adhesive thermal labels to create items such as parcel slips or shipping labels. The 105x148 mm thermal label format is the standard for this purpose. Printing barcodes and QR codes is no problem at a resolution of 203 dpi. The printer is set up as a standard Windows printer to print the DIN A6 PDF files provided by your shipping service provider.

Used electrical appliances purchased from us can be returned to the address listed in the legal notice, in accordance with the German Electrical and Electronic Equipment Act (ElektroG).
